The hotel group Axis Hotels & Golf, started in 1997 with the acquisition of Ofir Hotel**** (191 rooms) in Esposende, and then we built in Ponte de Lima the Golf Hotel*** in 2003.
With the draft set for the opening of a hotel unit in Viana do Castelo with 87 rooms, the group created in 2007 the brand Axis Hotels & Golf and changed the designation of existing hotels to Axis Ofir and Axis Ponte de Lima, and assigned the name of Axis Viana**** to the new unit which would open in August 2008.
In March 2009 the group Axis has expanded to Porto with the opening of the Axis Porto**** with 145 rooms.
Already in 2010 the Axis Group consolidated with the acquisition of the Vermar Hotel in Póvoa de Varzim, and assigned it the name Axis Vermar****, asserting itself in the North of Portugal with a total capacity of 671 rooms.
In February 2011 we opened the first Low Cost in Braga with the new sub-brand Basic Braga by Axis.
